The construction of this beautiful temple began during the 6th century B.C. and required more than 700 years for its completion. During the reign of emperor Hadrian, the temple emerged as the largest and most glorious temple in Greece. The broader area is filled with artifacts of ancient grace, such as the 15 remaining Corinthian columns. Juxtaposed with the always-on-the-move modern Athenian life, it’s the perfect spot to witness the blend of the ancient with the contemporary. The Temple of Olympian Zeus is simply a must-see site.
