OUR HISTORY
We go way back. In fact, almost half a century and well over 8 million guests, back. But one thing remains unaltered: our dedication to offering unforgettable stays.
The President Hotel was designed by Ioannis Vikelas in 1974 and opened its doors 4 years later. Vikelas was a legendary Greek architect whose name is behind the most historical hotels and public buildings of Athens.
He was completely immersed in every part of the process, creating not only the main building but also the interior design, every piece that was part of the decorative equipment, and every basic detail of it.
Following the aesthetic lines of cubist architecture, to this day the building remains one of the most prolific samples of the style.
The building was both conceptualized and commissioned since its inception as a modern hotel, and it was crafted, down to the very detail, with this purpose in mind.
To serve as a highly functional hotel that would meet the demands of upgraded hospitality and serve the needs and the expectations of our guests.
The construction took 4 years to reach its completion, creating the tallest hotel and the 7th tallest building in Greece. A core part of the completion of the project was the absolute accuracy of the measurements and the immense focus to detail.
While the hotel has undergone changes and renovations during this time, it nonetheless remains in its core unaltered, proof that a strong vision lives through the time.
